Checks will be made at the weigh bridge office to determine if you are disposing of domestic waste. You will need to visit the site office when you arrive. If you arrive after this time, you will not be allowed in. You can ask a friend or family to book for you. You will see that we separate items out by categories. If you have more DIY waste than the free limit, you’ll need to pay a fee.

You can book a slot up to 14 days in advance to access our four household waste recycling sites. Progressive slots have reels that continue to spin indefinitely, increasing the amount of money that can be won each time the game is played. Please try to cancel with as much notice as possible so that the slot can be offered to someone else. If you bring mixed items in a bag, you may be asked to sort them on site before disposal. The tip on Shidas Lane in Oldbury is open every day 8am – 4pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. We monitor visits to ensure fair use of the service. Bookings can be made up to 2 weeks ahead of your visit and up to 30 minutes before your visit, subject to availability. As of 2 January 2024 changes to DIY waste are being implemented. Bookings are limited to monitor and identify commercial waste. Arriving significantly earlier or later than your booked appointment may result in us being unable to guarantee entry.

You will receive a confirmation email after booking and a reminder email the day before your visit. You may be asked to return at your booked time or make a new booking if your slot has passed. However, please don’t worry if you are slightly early or late – the system has a time tolerance around your booking slot to accommodate this. If mixed waste and recycling is brought to the site this is limited to four visits per 28 days; for garden waste only, up to 6 visits per 28 days. If you are unable to attend your pre booked slot, please cancel your appointment using the link provided in the confirmation email received at the time of booking. As of Monday 24 August, fridges and freezers are able to be accepted at the recycling centre and on bulky waste collections.

Make sure you still bring ID and arrive in the vehicle mentioned in the booking. They can book and give you your booking reference number. Each has its own place at the recycling centre. There is a link to cancel your booking in the booking confirmation email. Request special access to the recycling centre. Make your way to the weigh bridge on the lower level when you arrive at the recycling centre.
